PRSA is Chatting Up a Charity!

Each quarter PRSA Orlando features a Central Florida not-for-profit organization as our way of giving back to our community. As a PRSA Orlando member you can make a a personal contribution in the form of a monetary donation or by bringing supplies designated in advance by the highlighted organization. Help spread the word about this effort and have a voice in determining what not-for-profit organizations we support. For more information, contact C.J. Drake, community services chair, at Cj.drake@pgnmail.com.

Every month, we'll communicate to you about the selected charity we'll be supporting and ask you to consider a personal contribution in the form of a monetary donation or supplies that you'll bring to that month's luncheon (or can have delivered to our Community Service Chair).

PRSA has been thrilled to begin highlighting area charities starting in June 2007. If you would like to know more about how you or your company can help please contact one of the featured organizations listed below.

Our 2008 Winter Quarter “Chatting Up A Charity" recipient is Give Kids The World Village (GKTW). Suzie Storey, fellow PRSA Orlando member and GKTW communications director, will join us Feb. 20 to share how we can make a difference in the lives of children with life- threatening illnesses and their families. Located in Kissimmee, the nonprofit organization creates magical memories through accommodations at a whimsical 70-acre resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a complimentary week-long fantasy vacation. More than 85,000 families from all 50 states and more than 60 countries have experienced the magic of Central Florida since GKTW was created in 1986. As a PRSA Orlando member you can make a difference. Disposable cameras, blank CDs, 8-packs of crayons and umbrellas are just a few of the small items that bring big smiles to the faces of visiting families. If you'd like to help, please bring your donation to the February meeting. Visit Give Kids The World online or call 407-396-1114 to find out how you can help.
