Promotions Intern

Description: The Promotions Intern will serve as a key point of contact for fans and media personnel. Additionally, the Intern will promote Volusia Speedway Park, its races and special events throughout the Central Florida community.
Company Description: Volusia Speedway Park is one of Florida's finest dirt racetracks, featuring a 1/2 mile oval for cars, sprints and motorcycles, and a 1/8 mile oval specifically for go-karts. In February, VSP hosts the annual DIRTcar Nationals which serves as the kick-off to North American racing. Fans can see weekly shows as well as special events such as the World of Outlaws Sprints, Super DIRTcar, and World of Outlaws Late Model racing.
Responsibility:
- Draft press releases as assigned
- Promote VSP and event through electronic media such as community chat rooms, local motorsports forums or other options
- Assist the corporate PR staff with electronic promotions such as e-newsletters or other devices as requested
- Sell sponsorships to local businesses
- Clerical duties
Skills Required:- Preferred majors include Motorsports Management, Sports Management, Public Relations or Marketing
- Strong written communication skills required
- Comfortable with internet technology and use
- Self-motivated
