Orange County Environmental Protection is seeking a motivated individual to lead our Communications and Training team as an Environmental Program Supervisor. Candidate must have an awareness of environmental issues and good communication skills. Must be able to work independently and coordinate activities with outside agencies.
Supervise and manage staff to ensure objectives are achieved in an effective and efficient manner.
Oversee the team’s communication, education and training events.
Work with other teams within the Environmental Protection Division, other county divisions, and outside agencies.
Attend public meetings, including afterhours and weekend meetings, and prepare and provide presentations on environmental issues and provide public assistance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelors Degree including major course work in Environmental or Civil Engineering, the natural sciences, or a related field and five years of progressively responsible environmental experience. A Masters degree may substitute for two years of experience.
Must be able to perform job related tasks, which would include but not be limited to: climbing, walking over uneven ground, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to dust and fumes, and occasional exposure to adverse weather.
Ability to flex work hours as necessary to attend events outside of normal work hours.
