The FHSAA is seeking a full-time administrator for the Administrative Services Department. Duties include serving as the FHSAA spokesperson with the media, writing press releases, planning recognition events, coordinating and editing official publications, and assisting with state championship events.

For over 95 years, the FHSAA - through the cooperative efforts of its member schools - has provided opportunities for high school students in Florida to participate on a fair and equitable basis in interscholastic athletic programs that produce vital educational benefits. The FHSAA sponsors over 3,600 championship series games through which 141 teams, and 294 individuals are crowned state champions in 32 sports each year. Over 2,000 student athletes each year experience winning a championship. Through participation in these athletic programs, over 800,000 students annually are extended opportunities to receive lessons in leadership, sportsmanship and citizenship.
1. Serve as the media relations expert and spokesperson for the FHSAA 2. Write and issue press releases for the FHSAA 3. Serves as an event planner for the FHSAA for major recognition programs including: Hall of Fame, Student Academic Awards and Sportsmanship Recognition Programs 4. Write public announcement scripts for championship events 5. Manage all FHSAA Social Media 6. Coordinate meetings of the FHSAA Public Liaison Advisory Committee 7. Coordinate and edit FHSAA official publications and online content including, but not limited to calendars, handbooks, policies, Officials' Guidebook, up-to-date stats, team data forms, PA scripts and other materials as needed 8. Assists with upkeep of the FHSAA website: includes, but not limited to daily content management and postseason results. 9. Maintain historical records and archives for all Florida High School State Championships 10. Assist with on-site management of state championship events includes, but not limited to: updating website, updating statistics, liaison with host staff, coordinates media interviews, coordinates on-site sponsor fulfillment 11. Ensure the Assistant Executive Director for Administrative Services is informed of all matters related to assigned areas 12. Attend Board of Director meetings, prepare agenda packet materials and draft post-meeting press releases. 13. Manage all media rights agreements and credential requests. 14. Oversee and assist in the coordination of the Administrative Services internship program. 15. Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
Effective public relations skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of secondary school athletic program management. Problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to plan events and facilitate groups. Demonstrated ability to use various mediums of social media and basic software. Ability to read, interpret and implement federal and state statutes and FHSAA By-Laws and Policies.
1. Bachelor's degree with major course work in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or related field from an accredited educational institution. 2. A minimum of one (1) year public relations, broadcasting or marketing work experience. Additional educational training may be substituted for experience. 3. Experience working in a school, university or sports broadcasting/media setting preferred.
Salary or Range:
$47,383 Bachelors; $50,700 Masters
