This is a temporary assignment scheduled to start on January 16, 2017 and run through May 31, 2017.

Position Summary:

The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing multi-channel digital marketing initiatives geared to brand awareness and lead generation for College programs and initiatives. This position is in the Office of Marketing & Communications under the Enrollment Management and Marketing division.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Proposing and implementing social media campaigns and strategies in support of the Rollins mission and being responsible for maintaining all content on Rollins social media platforms.
  • Actively listening to the online conversations about Rollins and determining if further engagement, offline communication or additional information is needed.
  • Understanding the school's position in the marketplace and developing content to reach target audiences.
  • Developing comprehensive social media advertising campaigns to support admission cycle marketing on Facebook and Instagram, including a proven ability to segment, test, measure results, pivot based on data and recommending areas of opportunity.
  • Collaborating with other marketing team members to share ideas and generating new marketing methods and communication opportunities.
  • Serving as social media counsel to campus partners, helping them develop social strategies for their areas.
  • Leading and leveraging student social media ambassadors to share their stories about life as a Rollins student to prospective students via their own social media with #RollinsLife and takeovers of the official Rollins channels.
  • Leading strategy and execution for the #RollinsLife initiative, marketing to prospective students through Admission campaigns. 
  • Generating and interpreting monthly metrics reports to support strategic decision making.
  • Tracking and reporting on campaign metrics.
  • Cultivating Rollins President's Instagram account, by working close with him and his office.
  • Assisting in media relations, public relations, and internal communications.
  • Serving on the public information team and managing the flow of information on social channels in emergency situations.
  • Effectively managing projects to ensure initiatives are completed on time and within budget.
  • Performing related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field is required.
  • 5+ years marketing experience with Bachelor's or Master's, and proven track record of developing and implementing marketing plans inclusive of social media organic, campaigns and advertising.
  • Expertise in major social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Flickr, Yelp and LinkedIn, among others.
  • Ability to identify markets, competition and target audience in the execution of strategic marketing initiatives. 
  • Social Media platform knowledge: SproutSocial, Zoomph, Facebook Insights & Ads Manager, and Later.
  • Public relations management tool knowledge. 
  • Awareness of the Central Florida market and economy.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications. 
  • Strong detail-orientation skills.
  • Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Image Management (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking team environment.
  • Must be available to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous higher education experience preferred.
  • Previous millennial marketing experience preferred.
  • Proven management of a brand ambassador initiative preferred.
